The Dangerous Book for Boys

My Uncle Arthur (my Mom's eldest brother) was one of the best story-tellers I have ever known. <<Of course, it doesn't hurt that one of his favorite stories to tell at the yearly family reunion was about a day of working in his garden with me.>>

So, I will try (in Uncle Arthur fashion)to skillfully retell this tale ...

The mail had arrived and Abram was excited that the brown cardboard box being opened by his Father was addressed to him.

"It's a book from Grandee, Abram" Steve announced.

Abram quizzed him in a youthful dialect, "What do it say?"

"The Dangerous Book for Boys" read Steve.

"Let me see that!" Abram exclaimed, jerking the book from his father's hands. He quickly pushed through page after page until the end.

Indignantly he declared, "This book not dangerous".

Steve began to laugh boldly.

"I serious" Abram declared, "There nothing wrong with this book!".

The Dangerous Book for Boys, written by Conn and Hal Iggulden, is a guidebook aimed at boys "from eight to eighty." It covers topics, including how to build a treehouse, grow a crystal, or tell direction with a watch. Also included are famous quotes, stories, battles, and phrases that "every boy should know."

Okay, so the book is for 8 up but Abram doesn't need or have to wait until 8. He already knows pretty much everything. Love you all!
